Each year in Europe, 3-4 million tonnes of spent grain are generated from beer production, specifically from small breweries, excluding industrial ones. Although there are already noteworthy projects aimed at repurposing this waste for animal feed, fertilizers, and other applications, I wanted to explore more innovative uses. So, I collaborated with brewers from "Laugar" (Bilbao) and "BapBap" (Paris) to turn their "beer waste" into a biodegradable, rigid material that can be utilized for designing various products, such as stools and external packaging.
